Testimonials

From my own experience at Bowker Motor Group, I know just how varied and rewarding a career in the automotive sector can be. But I also think we need to do more to make those opportunities visible, create stronger connections between women across the industry, and help more women see dealership careers as something for them.

Championing Women in Dealerships feels different because it is rooted in the real experiences of women working in dealerships today. What excites me most about this initiative is its focus on practical support, honest conversations, and genuine relationships. If we can share experiences, learn from each other, and turn those conversations into action, I believe it can make a real difference.

Throughout my career, I've always believed that lasting change starts by giving people a platform and creating opportunities for their voices to be heard. That's why being part of the founding Board of AM's Championing Women in Dealerships programme is something I'm particularly proud of.

I believe the true impact will actually be seen and felt in the small but important moments that this initiative creates, like someone finding the confidence to put themselves forward for a new opportunity, gaining a mentor, expanding their professional network, or feeling seen and validated when hearing how others have faced and overcome similar challenges.

As a founding Board member, it's been hugely rewarding to help shape a programme that combines visibility with practical action, and together, we're helping to create a more inclusive and supportive space where talented women can see a future for themselves, and where businesses benefit from the diverse conversations and ideas needed to succeed

Joining the Championing Women in Dealerships Advisory Board was an easy decision for me because I genuinely want to help open more doors for women across our industry. I may be one of the quieter members of the board, but I believe that listening, encouraging others, and sharing experiences can make a meaningful difference.

I started my career as a Sales Administrator and, through hard work, determination, and the support of some incredible people along the way, I progressed into senior management. My journey has shown me that careers are built through ambition, resilience, and the courage to take opportunities when they come. With the right support and belief in yourself, there are no limits to what you can achieve.

I joined the board because I want to give something back. I want to help inspire, mentor, and encourage more women to believe in themselves, embrace new opportunities, and build rewarding careers within the motor trade. This industry has given me an incredible career, and I want the next generation to know that there are no limits to what they can achieve.

If I can help even one woman find the confidence to take that next step, step outside her comfort zone, or see the opportunities available to her, then being part of this board will have been worthwhile. With the right mindset, the right support, and someone who believes in you, the sky really is the limit. I am proof that with determination, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning, anything is possible.

I'm delighted to be involved with AM Online's Championing Women in Dealerships initiative. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work alongside incredibly talented women whose expertise, leadership and dedication have helped shape successful teams, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and strengthen our businesses.

Initiatives like this are important because they not only celebrate the achievements of women already thriving within our industry, but also provide visibility, support and inspiration for others building their careers in automotive retail. Seeing successful role models and hearing shared experiences can have a powerful impact, helping women feel recognised, valued, and confident in pursuing new opportunities and leadership roles.

The industry has made significant progress, but there is still more we can achieve. I'm proud to support an initiative that shines a spotlight on these outstanding contributions and helps create a more inclusive, diverse, and representative future for our dealerships.
